Peppermint Crisp Doughnuts

Soft, fluffy doughnuts filled with creamy caramel and topped with Peppermint Crisp — a decadent twist on a South African classic!
Ingredients:
**For the Doughnuts:
– 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
– ¾ cup warm milk
– ¼ cup granulated sugar
– 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
– ¼ tsp salt
– 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
– 1 large egg
**For the Filling:**
– 1 can (360g) caramel treat
**For the Topping:**
– 1 cup chocolate chips (melted)
– 2 Peppermint Crisp bars, crushed
### Directions:
1️⃣ **Prepare the Dough:** Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add flour, sugar, salt, butter, and egg. Knead until a soft dough forms. Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
2️⃣ **Shape and Fry:** Roll out the dough and cut into rounds. Let them rise for 20 minutes. Heat oil to 180°C (350°F) and fry for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
3️⃣ **Fill:** Once cooled, pipe caramel treat into the doughnuts using a piping bag.
4️⃣ **Glaze:** Dip the tops of the doughnuts in melted chocolate and sprinkle with crushed Peppermint Crisp.
5️⃣ **Serve:** Let set for a few minutes, then enjoy the gooey, minty goodness!
