A two-day meeting point for music, sound, art and creative community
Johannesburg, South Africa – 18 September 2026 – Groove Biennale returns this October with The Post Eco (Sound) System Installation, bringing together a multidisciplinary line-up of artists and creatives for a two-day programme running from Thursday, 8 October until Friday, 9 October 2026. The venue will be announced.
Presented as an extension of Groove Biennale’s commitment to creating spaces for experimentation, connection and cultural exchange, The Post Eco (Sound) System Installation moves beyond the traditional dancefloor by transforming sound into an immersive, multi-sensory experience where music intersects with art, design and creative experimentation.
Rather than positioning audiences simply as spectators, the installation invites them to engage with the space, the sound and one another — creating moments of participation, conversation and shared discovery. Through this intersection of sound, visual expression and community, the installation explores how nightlife can become a space for collective expression, collaboration and new cultural
The programme features BŪJIN with LIKKLYLIKS, DORMANTYOUTH, JINJI B2B ZANGO KUBHEKA, LOVING PARENTS, ANXIOUSBABY, MR FAGWINTER and SCARS.
Groove Biennale forms part of Jägermeister’s wider Night Embassy and SAVE THE NIGHT commitment to supporting the people, communities and ideas shaping the future of nightlife.
Night Embassy’s involvement goes beyond traditional sponsorship by helping create space for grassroots culture, emerging creatives and nightlife communities to experiment, collaborate and build more inclusive cultural spaces.
Through Groove Biennale, the platform supports artists and creative communities whose work may not always find a home within traditional nightlife environments, reinforcing nightlife as a space for creativity, belonging, cultural exchange and progression.
Through this edition, Groove Biennale continues to create room for diverse creative voices and communities to meet, collaborate and participate in the cultural landscape. The festival’s wider approach centres music and nightlife while opening up opportunities for conversation, experimentation and creative exchange.
“Groove Biennale is about creating a space where music, art and community can meet — where different creative voices can connect, experiment and help shape what comes next.”
