A 40 year-old self taught artist makes a living fighting rhino pouching pottering sculptures.

His amazing work attracted hundreds of people who flock over to their village to take photos posing next to their sculptures.

Thabo Mochoeneng of Ga Matlala outside Polokwane, Limpopo says his art preserves wild life for future generation.

“Art is in my blood. It is my passion. I don’t have any formal training or knowledge in art”. Thabo said.

“I am not only building sculptures using wires and cement. I am pottering sculptures to save magnificent species from brink of extinction”. Thabo said.

He said”I decided to respond to desperate call for desperate measures of a holistic approach to help stop illegal killing of our rhinos that are now remaining under threat from organised crime syndicate”.

“It is worrying me to see how this iconic animal is being dehorned and hope our people will help save our rhinos and support conservation”. Thabo explained.

“Our sculptures bring a better understanding of drastic measures in place to conserve our wild life animals which we hold so precious”. Thabo said.

” We have website where we market and promote our art work”He concluded.
