On Sunday, a phone call conversation between US President Donald Trump and London’s Theresa May saw the two discussing the “appalling humanitarian situation” in Eastern Ghouta.
During this conversion, the two leaders concluded that Russia and Syria were responsible for the “heart breaking human suffering” in the Syrian rebel-held enclave of Eastern Ghouta.
Trump and May agreed that Syria was more responsible for this heart breaking human suffering as well as Russia as they are the regimes main backer.
The two leaders labelled the situation a complete humanitarian catastrophe saying that: “Russia and those who have influence over the Syrian regime must act now to cease their campaign of violence and to protect civilians.”
Meanwhile, the Syrian observatory for Human Rights on Sunday said that: “Syria’s regime has seized control over almost a quarter of Eastern Ghouta on the edges of the capital of Damascus.
