President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to address fellow South Africans tonight, Wednesday 16 September 2020 at 7:00 PM, the presidency confirmed in a statement on their social media platforms.

Tonight’s address will be focused on risk-adjusted response to COVID-19. The president met with the National Coronavirus Command Council on Monday 14, September 2020, where it is reported that the relaxation of lockdown was the main agenda of the meeting.

A reliable source who was in the meeting said borders and other points of entry would reopen,and travellers from high risk countries not be permitted to enter South Africa, which include the US, the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy.

In the past week, the president told the media that government was considering a further relaxation of some of the lockdown regulations, which means the country could go to level one.
