PREMIER DR PHOPHI RAMATHUBA TO OFFICIATE HANDOVER AND SOD-TURNING CEREMONY FOR ROAD D1589 CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Limpopo Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, will officiate the official handover and sod-turning ceremony marking the commencement of construction of Road D1589 in Blouberg Local Municipality.
The five-kilometre road project forms part of Road D1589, a route under Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL), stretching from De Vrede to Taaibosch within the Blouberg Local Municipality, in the Capricorn District.
This infrastructure development initiative is undertaken in collaboration with De Beers Venetia Mine and reflects a strategic public-private partnership aimed at accelerating rural road infrastructure development and enhancing access to economic opportunities.
“This partnership model reaffirms our unwavering commitment as a provincial government to deepen collaboration with the private sector in order to accelerate service delivery and expand critical infrastructure investment.
It is through these continuous engagements with industry leaders and key stakeholders, that we aim to unlock transformative development initiatives that stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities and improve the quality of life for our communities,” said Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba.
Premier Ramathuba will be joined by the MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Mr Ernest Rachoene, Executive and Local Mayors, as well as senior leadership from Venetia Mine.
