Gauteng SAPS have arrested a 31-year-old suspect identified as, Muzikayise Malephane. Gauteng police have confirmed a 31-year-old Soweto man has been arrested in connection with the murder of 28-year-old Tshegofatso Pule.

The suspect today was at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court for his first appearance linked to the murder of Tshegofatso Pule.

Muzikayise Malephane (31) faces one charge of premeditated murder for the brutal killing of Tshegofatso Pule . More charges could be brought later. He will make an application for legal aid at his next appearance on 24 June.

Tshegofatso was stabbed to death and hung on a tree. A video was doing rounds on social media of Tshegofatso ‘s lifeless body hanging from a rope in the past days.

It is sad to hear that every 3 hours a woman is murdered in South Africa, 2 930 women murdered in 2017/2018, 56 murders a day

The Global Peace Index stats show that the violence in South Africa is similar to countries at war or in conflict.
