Zuma will not appear on Zondo inquiry this week

Former president Jacob Zuma's lawyers comfirmed with a letter written to professor Mosala, that their client (Jacob Zuma) won't appear to the Zondo commission.

Thi iis following strongly linked allegations of public reported, corruption involving the Gupta family.

Below are the reasons in a letter from fomer president Jacob Zuma's attorneys (Mabuza Attorneys) to professor Mosala.

The letter state, that the commission is aware that the review application which former president Zuma has instituted to set aside the refusal by Deputy Chief Minister Zondo, to recuse himself from hearing matters concerning him and his family is yet to be determined by the court.

The summons issued for Mr Zuma to appear on Monday 15-19 February 2021 is irregular and not in the line with the fourth order of the Constitutional Court judgment of 28 January 2021.

The law firm continued saying that for Mr Zuma appearing before Deputy chief of Justice Zondo in the circumstances, would undermine and invalidate the review application over his decision not to recuse himself.

Also the attorneys place on record that the review application was not before the Constitutional Court and, accordingly, was not considered and/or adjusted by the Constitutional Court.
