Seven suspects have been arrested whithin 48 hours after a cash-in-transit van was robbed on Monday along Matlala Road outside Polokwane, Limpopo.
Suspects were arrested Monday night in a house in Seshego (Madiba Park), Limpopo, and others during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of money after firing several shots before blowing up the vehicle.
The Limpopo SAPS recovered two bullet-riddled cars, rifles, ammunition, cartridges, explosives and money bags in Seshego.
The vehicles are believed to have been stolen in Gauteng.Police say more arrests are imminent.
“During the operation, members recovered two stolen vehicles with false registration plates, ammunition, cartridges, money bags, and explosives. The seven are aged between 24 and 49,” Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said.
